It was January 12th, 2016 and the National Championship was the game for the Alabama Crimson Tide to win. The game had a total of 75,000 people, and every person in the nation had their eyes on their televisions. As me, my cousin Chris, and my friend Ben sit on the couch getting ready to watch this game Ben says, “So what happens if Alabama loses tonight?” I turn my head in disgust and say “We don’t say things like that in my house.” As the game progresses the Crimson Tide dominate yet another year, and bring home another title to Tuscaloosa Alabama. As the game clock strikes down to zero seconds I turn to Ben again and say “Now where is my fifty bucks at?”

Eulogy

We are gathered here today to celebrate a young man’s life who was a great person. He was a badger’s fan, and a simple man that didn’t look for much in life. He had a lot of good friends and touched a lot of lives in his time. His family made sure to give him all of the tools to succeed in life, and prosper. In his last days Ben Laws was hanging with his friends watching football. He loved to do this with a group of people, however this was the last time he got too. If on he had given the money, he owed he would still be alive today. Let us celebrate this man’s life by remembering the good times. In his last days he got to relax with his good friend Xavier. This man loved Ben unconditionally and would do anything for him. These fifty bucks Ben lost to Xavier will be forever remembered as the Crimson Tide Fifty.

Medieval

The great King Norman sits on his throne within his kingdom to watch the Tide of Crimson Roll once again. Within his lair lies a noble man by the name of Sir Ben. Sir Ben accompanies the king to watch the Tide Roll, and Sir Ben has doubts about the king’s favorite team. King Norman told Sir Ben if he were so sure of his thoughts then maketh a wager! Sir Ben does, and loses his wager of fifty sheep. King Norman wins the wager and replies to Sir Ben “I am delighted to taketh away your rations.”

     Dear Ben,
ROLL TIDE ROLL!! I know that it makes your heart break since my boys won the championship AGAIN! We just produce the best talent in the nation, it’s just what we do my man. Too bad the Wisconsin Badgers don’t produce them the way we do in Tuscaloosa. You shouldn’t have talked so much trash man. Well, anyways I’m going to get back to drinking my celebration beer just make sure that the fifty bucks is in my hands.

-Xavier

Point of view

Ben: “I just hate Alabama! I hope that they lose every game next season. I just don’t get it; they get better every damn year! There has got to be something illegal going on in that football program. It doesn’t make any sense how they get all of these good players, it is just stupid to me. Look at Xavier sitting over there all happy. Damn, I’m going to owe him fifty bucks! I can’t believe I came to his house to watch this game. He watches them win every week while I have to hope and pray my Wisconsin Badgers make it to the playoffs. Well there goes Derrick Henry running down the field once again. Let me give Xavier this money now so I can leave before he starts celebrating.”

Precision

It’s a fourth down goal line situation, and the Clemson tiger defense has their heels on the one-yard line. The Alabama Crimson Tide have one last play to advance seven more points on the tigers, and they decide not to kick a field goal. Instead they give the ball to their elite running back Derrick Henry, and he plows through the line to score a touchdown to put Alabama ahead. As the play comes to an end Xavier looks at his friend ben and says, “GET YOU SOME.” Ben knows that the game is Alabama’s for the taking so he responds, “WHAT EVER “, you guys are supposed to be good.”

Facebook Post

Ben Laws: I have no idea why I went to Xavier Norman’s house to watch this damn game. As we all know he is one of the biggest Alabama fans in the world, and he has been forever. BUT, with that being said I have to address you bandwagons’ that hop on the Alabama train just because they won this championship. I hate seeing people who just a month ago were Badgers fans wearing crimson attire now after they won. Come on guys, WHERE IS THE LOYALTY! Just because they are the best college football team in the world doesn’t mean that everyone has to be a fan. Like wake up people, stick to who your real team is and stop jumping on a bandwagon when you never were a fan.

Police Report

Officer: On the 12th of January 2016 at 9:30 p.m.  dispatch got a call about a disturbance in a neighborhood. The call came from an elderly lady who said all she could hear was a man screaming “ROLL DAMN TIDE.” Officers arrived at the house to see a man running around his yard with nothing but a Crimson Tide PFG, with flip flops and shorts. Officers proceeded to walk toward the individual and ask was he ok. He responded, “YOU DAMN RIGHT, WE WON THE ‘SHIP.Officers turned to speak to the other man in the yard and noticed that he was lying flat on his face. So an officer asked the man “What’s wrong with your friend”, and he responded “His ass should have given me my fifty bucks for the win.”

News Article

The National Championship game was one for the record books! This game had so much suspension built up, it caused a few friends to get physical over a wager. The Alabama Crimson Tide went yet another year winning the title, and fanatic Xavier Norman was very proud of his team. He makes it a point to let everyone know he is an Alabama fan regardless if they like it or not. His friend Ben Laws was at his home by the campus of TTU on the night of the game. The two proceeded to watch the game, and had put a wager on it. As the tide won the game Ben lost the wager only to have to give Mr. Norman the money for the bet. To Mr. Norman’s account he slapped Ben upside his head and knocked him out cold. Mr. Norman was even so gracious to give a statement, “He is a really good friend of mine, but I don’t play about my money or my Crimson Tide!”
