Advice Column

Advice Column:

Dear Dr. Jane,

Please help! I’m dying over here. I’m a student at Tennessee Tech and my senior year is quickly coming to an end. I love my school and most of the people that attend it, except this one guy. He’s a really, really creepy man who ALWAYS follows me around campus. Not only does he stalk me to the extreme, he gives me the weirdest compliments, sends me overly dramatic text messages, and the most annoying love letters. I couldn’t get away from him even if I move to Romania, which I’m almost positive that’s where he’s from. Apparently he’s seen me many times driving to class on Willow Avenue, and about 4 days out of the week, he’ll come sit next to me while I do my homework. I’ve politely told him numerous times to either leave me alone or that I had a boyfriend. I even went to campus security and wrote a letter to the president of Tennessee Tech and nothing has been done. So my question to you is, what the heck do I do about this stalker of mine? I’m slowly dying on the inside, along with my sanity.

Sincerely,

Extremely Annoyed.

Dear Extremely Annoyed,

You shouldn’t let a stranger ruin your senior year. This is your time to shine. My advice to you is that you bring your boyfriend or a friend with you when you come to campus. Pepper spray may do you some good too. Try and study in different buildings on campus, or stay off of campus as much as possible. You could warn others about this “friend” of yours as well. That way, this man will eventually get the hint due to his peers knowing how creepy he is. So don’t sweat it, kid. You’ll be just fine.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jane
