Presidential Historian's Analysis

In 2016, two esteemed former presidents had high hopes for the future of the country. Both had close family members in the race for the presidency. More importantly, at least one of their relatives was predicted to win. However, the 2016 Presidential Election took an unforeseen turn and left both men on losing teams. On the night of the election, these elder statesmen chatted over the phone about their misfortunes. One can only imagine the heartbreak they must have felt as they spoke. Their world and the honor of being referred to as “Mr. President” had taken on a new meaning that day. They could either laugh or cry. After extensive study of these two men, my prediction is they laughed. Neither were known for being solemn. Following the phone call, they both released statements saying they would not attend the inauguration. Neither could stand the thought of watching their precious title being bestowed upon someone they had fought so hard to prevent from ascending to the presidency. This was the first time in presidential history in which all living former presidents vehemently opposed the president-elect.
